As the academic year starts to wind down, it's important that we solidify the future leadership of BruinPlanners and map out what role this site is going to play over the next couple of years. To that end, we're having an info session on campus next week to talk about where we think things ought to be going and what you see as the future of the site.
Topics to be covered include how to formalize and coordinate the production of content, ways of monetizing the blog to pay for operations (i.e. hosting costs), and how to manage the annual funding allocation we receive from the department, among a great many other concerns. BruinPlanners is already a great resource for current and former students to exchange ideas, publicize their work, and promote social events, but we want to ensure that it continues to grow and improve, providing a benefit to students, alumni, the department and the university.
Everyone is encouraged to come, especially current first-years and (if they're around town) incoming students, because you will really be the ones most intimately involved in shaping the future of the site. And to give you a little incentive, there will be a drawing for a couple of UCLA Urban Planning t-shirts. So come get yours!
When: Tuesday, April 20th at 3:00 pm
