Hey all,
I'm wondering if folks would be down for drinking Friday, Dec. 12th after finals. Actually I'm sure you will be, but I'm unsure of how many folks will be around.
I am thinking if folks are up for drinking and cool with coming east I'd have a party at my place and we could hit some bars within walking distance as the night progresses... but if Silver Lake is too far we could also meet in the middle, say the Hollywood area, maybe the Cat and the Fiddle.
Thoughts? Suggestions on other middle of town bars...
Game Night Reminder
So you probably read the post below about Jeremy & Niall's game night... we look forward to seeing you here!
When you arrive, there should be various spots on the street for parking, and there is an electronic buzzer system at the front door... just dial 410 or look for "Neil Huffman" - yes, the bldg manager spelled it wrong.
Or, call one of us:
Jeremy (909) 210-2771
Niall (714) 323-1878
People will probably start coming over between 7 and 8.

What's in Your Hometown?
Please take the time to read into this idea that Mathew Palmer brought to my attention while we were eating tater tots earlier this week. It's a fun way for us to get to know each other beyond our names, concentrations, and Chinese zodiac signs (if you were on that bus tour). We were thinking of doing this when we get back from Winter break. So, have the photos sent to: upsa2010@gmail.com maybe a week after Winter Break in case you want to shoot pictures during break.
Hometown Montage
Purpose
To bring together classmates and have each of us get to know each other through a creative medium that relates to our personal interests, history, and built-in environment.
What it is?
A collection of classmates’ photos of what they define as their hometown. Can be presented in a slideshow with text. We can limit each person to 3-5 slides in which each participant is free to create a collage or submit a single image per slide. It’s up to them to expand and be creative to tell their story ☺ First slide should be text of student’s name and hometown location.
Questions for participants to think about when selecting photos:
What does your hometown mean to you? If we were visiting your hometown, what would you want to show us first?
Where can this be presented?
Perhaps a bar that has LCD TVs and will give us permission to do so. May require us reserving space. This setting would be ideal because it is outside the classroom and in a more sociable setting.
What do we need?
To inform classmates and have them send pictures by a deadline date. We then need to organize photos into a slideshow that can converted into a DVD.
